NEWEST & BEST TRI WATCH
Pros: thinner, tracks pool swims Cons: none
Great watch, does more then the Garmin 310XT, watch is thinner and you can also buy a velcro watch to change out, this is great if you have very thin wrists like I do. This is an accessory I had to buy extra but worth the extra cost.

A GREAT TRIATHLON WATCH
Pros: form factor (compared to 310), display, swim mode Cons: none so far
I previously used a Garmin 310, and the 910 is essentially a new-and-improved version of the 310. The form factor is similar, but they have managed to make it more attractive by forming the case slightly differently and changing the overall contour. The display is the same size as the 310, but it appears to have higher resolution as the data displayed is more crisp and clear. The addition of the swim feature was one of the driving factors for my upgrading to the 910, and I have been very happy with it. So far I have been doing indoor pool swims, and the watch works really well for keeping track of my distance, time per set, and providing overall performance details that were not previously available to me. I am very happy with the watch, and it was well worth the wait for me. If you are looking for a great triathlon watch, then look no further.

910XT ROCKS!
Pros: size, battery life, swim metrics, altimeter Cons: price, style, can't be used as a time piece
It was time to upgrade from my trusty FR305 since its battery was showing it's age after 5 years of regular use. The 910 is much smaller, lighter and more comfortable to wear - It's like having an inconspicuous regular watch on your wrist in comparison to a smallish clock-radio.
I like the new strap - It's wide, comfortable and strong. A regular annoyance with my 305 was the loop that holds the tail of the strap from flopping loose would slip and eventually fail to contain the strap-end. That problem has been engineered out of the 910 with a tab in the loop that mates with the strap tail to eliminate any possibility of slippage.
Having run 300 miles with the 910 so far, I believe the GPS is more accurate than the 305 and acquires satellite lock faster. However, pace readings on the watch were volatile and unreliable when I first used it (firmware 2.3) though the data was accurate when downloaded to SportTracks - Garmin quickly solved the pace problem with firmware 2.4 (easy to download and install to the watch). The GPS accuracy acid-test is to run laps on the track (accurate distance for comparison and lots of curves that are the greatest challenge for GPS calculations). My 305 is reasonably accurate (for 5,000 meters, I'd say +/- 3m). I tested the 910 at the track with the 305 at the same time - With it's default setup, the 910 failed miserably (+/- 10m). However, after a little research, I changed the data recording from to and that transformed the distance accuracy of the 910 well ahead of the 305 (+/- 0.5m). You may prefer smaller data files and more history storage with the setting (and if you're running streets and trails without lots of curves it won't make much difference), but if you're like me, it's nice to know the accuracy is there.
The barometric altimeter is a huge improvement over previous GPS altitude calculations. I wouldn't use the 910 to create accurate topographic maps (depending on the weather, the elevation of my bedside table changes +/- 25ft.) but the relative elevation changes within a run seem quite accurate.
I've only had it in the pool once but seems to do everything it's purported to accurately: recognize different strokes, count laps, stroke frequency and total distance.
The screen is clear and easy to read even under water with goggles. The back-light is excellent and doesn't seem to drain the battery as quickly as the 305. The battery life is amazing (especially in comparison to a failing 305). Easy and quick to charge. Ant+ connectivity to the computer works flawlessly and sure beats the 305 USB cradle. Way up on the cool-scale is walking into the house and having the 910 vibration-notice that tonight's workout has been successfully uploaded to the computer even before I've taken off my shoes! I'm not a fan of Garmin Connect but it's simple to create complex interval workouts and upload them to the 910 and I use GC for data backup. I use SportTracks for data analysis and although it hasn't yet been updated to recognize the 910 model, data import works without any difficulties with the generic Garmin driver. The 910 pairs with the Garmin heart rate monitor easily and provides accurate heart data.

TOP TIER WATCH
Pros: works as advertised, endless features Cons: a tad expensive (worth it if the watch lasts)
Excellent watch, I've tried many of the functions and everything works as it is supposed to. I have the new premium HR monitor strap as well as the foot pod. The fact that you can customize everything makes it great for different activities and sports. I'd recommend reading DC rainmaker's internet review about the watch.
