COMFORTABLE FIT
I bought this strap to replace the band that came with my watch (bought the watch used and wanted a clean band). It fits nice, is easy to adjust, and includes new pins and a tool for removing the pins. Great value for the price.

305 VELCRO WRIST STRAP DOES THE JOB
Pros: comfortable and easy to size to all wrists
Cons: not yet!
After a couple of years of use, the rubber wriststrap for my 305 needed to be replaced. This velcro strap is an excellent alternative to the rubber one. I'm about 10 runs (from 5km to 30km) into the use of it and it's been comfortable. I was concerned that the fabric nature of it would be sweaty but so far so good. It's wide and comfortable and the nicest feature is that it can be as tight and as loose as you need it to be. Good deal for a cheap price and great shipping costs from gpscity.com.
Getting it to fit on the cradle is a little fussy but it's easy to figure out. Cradle goes between the watch and the strap.

I was disappointed that original Garmin rubber strap lasted about 2 months. I am very happy with the Velcro replacement strap use it 3-4 times per week.

BETTER THAN ORIGINAL STRAP
Pros: more durable, comfortable, great for small wrists
Garmin should put this strap on the Forerunner to start with - the original strap broke after a few months of constant use. The velcor strap makes it much easier for women with small wrists to use the strap/watch comfortably.

BEST STRAP EVER!

I love this strap. Period. When the old rubberized one on my Garmin split where the little prongs go into it, I wasn't sure what to do. It had always been too large for my wrist, so for the next few weeks I ran with it wrapped in my fist while I figured out what to do. I asked a running buddy for his suggestions, and he told me about both GPS City and the replacement Garmin strap. I couldn't be more pleased with both of his ideas. The reviews I'd read about the velcro-style strap were right on. It's adjustable, fits just right, and because of its design, it even fits into the charger saddle much more securely. Why they didn't design the watch with this strap in the first place is beyond my comprehension. I was equally pleased with GPS City's service. I'd opted for the two-day Federal Express delivery, and the watch actually arrived within 24 hours. Incredible!!

SHOULD BE STANDARD FOR ALL 305
Pros: perfect fit. reflective sides. protects contacts.
Cons: the reflective stripes should be wider.
I had this problem with my 305: we share it between my wife and myself. The strap that came with the watch was too small for me but too big for my wife. So I got this one and the velcro took care of all our problems. Perfect fit for both of us. Plus, it protects the contacts from getting all sweaty.

GARMIN FORERUNNER WATCH STRAP REPLACEMENT
Pros: good idea
Cons: bad execution
This replacement strap offered as a replacement for the Garmin 205 was not usable -- it did not fit on the watch because the band could not fit in the slot for the wrist band on the watch. Reading the other reviews I suspect I am missing something here and am not attaching it correctly, but there was no one to call/ask for help.

The plastic strap that came with my Garmin Forerunner 205 broke/split within about 6 months of use. It always used to slide around on my wrist as well. Once I got the Velcro strap there was no more sliding. It was simple to replace as well. So far it's a great purchase! I did purchase 2 at once so imagine I won't have to buy anymore for a few years or ever. I use it about 3-5 times a week on runs and it holds up great.

PERFECT!
This strap is *so* much better than the plastic/rubber on that comes with the Garmin. First of all, it's comfortable. Second, it's easy to use, thanks to the velcro. Finally, it doesn't look like it will break or tear (like the original Garmin one does)

BETTER FOR SMALL WRISTS
I bought this because I have an extremely small wrist circumference and the strap that comes with the Garmin 305 is too big for me. While the velcro strap is still aimed at an average wrist size, it is more comfortable and fits more snugly than the original strap.

MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL VINYL GARMIN STRAP
I would highly recommend replacing your original Garmin 205/305 vinyl watch strap with this much improved velcro style wrist band. It is a sinch to put on and you get a perfect fit everytime. I like the ease of putting it on and taking it off. You won't be disappointed!

I didn't necessarily like the band that came on my Garmin 305. I ordered the velcro replacement after reading mostly positive reviews. Upon receiving the strap and using it, I also would recommend it to anyone using the 305. It has a much better fit, and much better adjustability than the 'rubber' strap that comes with the watch. It also accounts for the charging dock easily. I am not sure if it is actually heavier than the rubber band, but it does feel as it is. The convenience of adjustability, sizing, and comfortability by far outweigh the fact that it feels heavy.

I recently purchased the replacement strap for my Forerunner 305 and I am very satisfied with the product. The velcro strap was easy to install and holds the watch firmly in position when in use. NO more greasy, sweaty wrist and the watch slipping about that I found with the original band. No worry about wiping down the contacts after a run either as this band has a moisture barrier sewn into the fabric. It is still easy to charge too. I'd recommend this product to those looking for a snug comfortable fit and a secure hold on your wrist. Easy to get on and off.

I find the original Garmin straps let the watch bounce around when I am running and they hurt my wrist bone. I love the velcro strap as it can fit tightly and is much easier to put on and off with mitts and gloves on. Excellent shipping and delivery.

I had several concerns when I ordered the item
1) How will the cradle be attached - No problem it slips easly between the strap and the Forerunner. 2) I am a 6ft male.. Will I need the Expander strap? - No the Expander strap was not needed. It's just another piece to store.

A DEFINITE UPGRADE
The band that came with the Garmin 305 was still in good shape after a year however I never liked it. When wet from sweat, the watch would start turning around my first which would make it very annoying. I would end up tighten it to the point where it would cut my circulation. Anyway, this wristband works like a charm. I have tiny wrists and the band can handle it. Works fine with the cradle and I have no problem recharging the unit. Well worth it.

I much prefer this velcro strap, to the rubber one that came with my Forerunner 305. It's not only more comfortable, but also easier to adjust to my wrist size. I"m also sure it will last much longer. I wish this had been the strap to come with my 305.

NICE ALTERNATIVE TO THE STOCK WATCH BAND

I always liked the velcro band of my old Garmin better than the plastic one on the 205/305, because it is infinitely adjustable rather than having to select a notch that always seemed a bit loose or a bit tight. The band was easy to replace and feels good on my arm. It most definitely has enough slack behind the watch to fit the charger, and in fact, it helps secure it better onto the charger, so I think this is another improvement.

Outstanding strap. Just upgraded from the Forerunner 201 that had this strap to the 205 that had a plastic watch type strap that I found uncomfortable and slipped when sweaty. This strap was easy to install, fits great and doesn't slip. Definitely would recommend.

I have a smaller sized wrist, and never got a great fit from the strap that comes standard with the Garmin 305. It tended to slip around when it got sweaty...even on the smallest notch.
Absolutely love that I can fit my Garmin snugly to my wrist with the new velcro strap!

REPLACING THE STRAP
It arrived remarkably fast, and just on the day when the original rubber(?) strap finally broke completely. Easy to install, with the little tool provided and the instructions. The strap extender is of no value to me - actually, my wrist is quite small, so a slightly smaller strap would give the velcro more overlap, but it works fine, stays on, doesn't slip when I'm running. Good product!

I got this one for my spouse who got used to velcro straps of her Forerunner 201. When she upgraded to the 205, she liked the functionality but not the watch strap. Now she has the new features and easy adjustment. The kit includes the tool for detaching the old strap and spare pins.
