Manufacturer Description |
The Dakota 20 and Garmin chirp is the best way to start caching! chirp is a one-of-a-kind wireless beacon designed specifically for the outdoor adventures of geocaching. Affordable, durable and waterproof, chirp can communicate with, and be programmed by, any compatible wireless-enabled Garmin handheld (sold separately). chirp stores hints, multicache coordinates, counts visitors and confirms the cache is nearby. chirp is password protected and has a battery life of up to one year.
Outdoor navigation meets touchscreen simplicity in Garmin Dakota 20. This rugged, palm-sized navigator combines touchscreen navigation, high-sensitivity GPS with HotFix satellite prediction, barometric altimeter, 3-axis electronic compass and microSD card slot in one affordable, power-packed punch.
Touch and Go
Garmin Dakota 20 makes outdoor navigation effortless with a tough, sunlight-readable, 2.6 inch color touchscreen display. The interface is easy to use, so you'll spend more time enjoying the outdoors and less time searching for information. Both durable and waterproof, Garmin Dakota 20 is built to withstand the elements: bumps, dust, dirt and water are no match for this rugged navigator.
Get Your Bearings
Garmin Dakota 20 has a built-in 3-axis electronic compass, which shows your heading even when you're standing still or not holding the device level. Its barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude, and you can even use it to plot barometric pressure over time, which can help you keep an eye on changing weather conditions. And with its high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver with HotFix satellite prediction, Garmin Dakota 20 locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and deep canyons.
Find Fun
Get into paperless geocaching with Garmin Dakota 20 by quickly downloading up to 2,000 caches, with information such as location, terrain, difficulty, hints and description - no more paper print outs and manually entered coordinates. Visit our geocaching pages for more information.
Explore the Terrain
Garmin Dakota 20 comes with built-in worldwide basemap, so you can navigate anywhere with ease. Adding more maps is easy with Garmin's wide array of detailed topographic, marine and road maps, available on microSD card.
Share Wirelessly
With Garmin Dakota 20 you can share your waypoints, tracks, routes and geocaches wirelessly with other compatible Dakota, Foretrex, Oregon and Colorado users. Now you can send your favorite route or geocache location to a friend easily. Just touch "send" to transfer your information to similar devices.

I enjoy it thoroughly every time, dealing with GPS City has been the best on-line shopping experience ever, it just does not get any better Cornelius K. AB, May 21/12 |
Excellent product and shipping time. Won't hesitate to deal through you again chuckomum, May 18/12 |
Very happy with the delivery process. I got what I wanted for a good price, and quickly Ravin, May 14/12 |
My fourth purchase from gpscity. Previous 3 went great and I expect this one will as well. I do feel rather sheepish though. This last week I've been combing the net for a golf GPS. For some reason this evening the lights went on - gpscity. Thank goodness I remembered you folks. I'll never know what took so long though. Anyway, I got to you and I feel much better now. :) Don Donald L. ON, May 11/12 |
nice web site, good layout-good pricing compared to US suppliers Steven S. BC, May 4/12 |
I have done alot of onlne ordering and this site is by far the best I have been on. Very clear and accurate presentation. I also like the fact that the credit card will not be charged until the item is shipped, not so with other places. Excellent smithers! Danny K. AB, May 4/12 |
