LOVE THE BELT CLIP

Pros: gps is now back on the belt where i like it
Cons: could a tighter fit to the back of the gps

I used to have the Garmin Gpsmap 60cx and it had the belt clip.

I recently purchased the Garmin 62s and it has that carabiner clip, I don't like it. I now use this clip with the Garmin retractable lanyard, and the the standard belt clip diamond mount for in the car .

Best goecaching combo ever! Gps mounted on the belt with lanyard attached, pull gps out to a usable position, never loose it on the trails because of the lanyard, then unclip it when you get back to the car and clip it right into the the suction cup mount with the belt clip diamond mount for the hands free use while driving. Perfect and quick !

JUST THE THING TO CARRY YOUR GPS UNIT

This is the same clip that I have been using for over four years to carry my Map60Cx. It attaches differently to the Map62s, but it does exactly the same job. i.e. it holds the GPS unit steady and allows it to be taken on and off very easily. I agree with others that this clip and bracket should be supplied with the Map62 series rather than the (floppy and not near as easy to use) caribiner clip and bracket.

LOVE IT!

So handy...keeps the GPSr near at hand when hiking, caching, etc. Love the quick release!

I use it with the lanyard, which keeps my Dakota from getting away from me while holding on to a large rock for dear life, the belt clip keeps it from dangling. Or have both clipped to my life vest when (inflatable) boat-caching (glad the GPS is waterproof!).

GOOD CLIP

Easy to use and holds the Oregon 450 securely. Better than having the Oregon dangling on the provided carbiner.

GREAT OPTION

Pros: slims unit in hands works with ram clip
Cons: none so far.

I bought this along with a RAM Mount Standard Belt Clip with Diamond Plate (RAP-304U) and the two work together beautifully. I decided on this configuration after reading the reviews and looking at the ram mount for the Garmin GPSMAP 62 and agree that it isn't well thought out as a car mount. The button clip that attaches to the back of the Gps unit is also slimmer than that of the carabiner clip, giving the unit a better fell in the hands. So you can either swap out the clips going in and out of your vehicle or keep the button clip on and use it with its belt clip.

WORKS LIKE IT SHOULD

Pros: works great
Cons: should be included with the gps

Works great, if you like the belt clip instead of the floppy carabiner clip that comes with the Oregon series.

WORKS WELL

Pros: secure
Cons: doesn't appear to be terribly rugged

Attaches/removes easily. Button to disengage works well. Not really a design fault, but I think an impact on the gps might break this clip. Good for non-hazardous duty, though.

G5 BELT CLIP > GARMIN'S LAME CARABINER CLIP

Pros: solid, reliable & proven mount
Cons: should come with the gps receiver

While I love the streamlined backside of the new Garmin 62 series, the carabiner & webbing clip they ship with the unit is near useless to me. I don't want my GPS receiver flopping & swinging around on my belt I want a solid mount! The Garmin Colorado Oregon Approach G5 Belt Clip is the clip that Garmin needs to replace the lame carabiner clip.

G5 BELTCLIP

Its a great product for carrying the G5 golf, however it could be made stronger at its holding points with the G5.

GOOD CLIP, ALLOWS BOTH HANDS TO BE FREE

Pros: easy to use, sturdy, hands free
Cons: hard to open battery compartment

It wasn't clear to me from the description, but this is the original Garmin clip.

Using this for geocaching. When I reach where I want to go, I just clip the GPSr to my belt and I have both hands free for searching, retrieving and signing the log. The alternative is to leave the GPSr lying around or stuffed in a pocket. Only two drawbacks to this product - the clip that attaches to the belt is not strong enough for my peace of mind (supplement that with a lanyard) and the slider that attaches to the Oregon prevents the battery compartment from being opened easily.

HATE THE CARABINER CLIP

I bought this for my Garmin 62s. Since the new GPS units come with a carabiner instead of the belt clip/button combo, I was forced to purchase this to fit the lanyard clip that I usually use. It slides on and off just like the carabiner and is made out of plastic, but seems fairly sturdy so far. I can see if you slid it off and on frequently, the little rails that hold it onto the GPS would wear down or eventually break off. Overall, it's good for the price and just what I wanted.

REPLACEMENT CLIP

Pros: slid right on and i was ready to go
Cons: none

When my Garmin Approach G5 clip broke I needed another one fast and I needed the same clip. This is the same Garmin Approach G5 clip which came with my unit when purchased. Very pleased with the product and the quick shipping.

WORKED AS EXPECTED

Pros: fits perfect, uses the standard beltclip attachmen
Cons: none

I've read some reviews on how people think the plastic could have been a bit more solid and I do understand. However if you're going to be that rough on the unit to break the clip, I would worry about what you're doing to your GPS. Also, I ordered the unit at 4PM EST and it arrived by noon the next day. Couldn't ask for better.

BELT CLIP

Pros: much easier to access gps than using caribiner
Cons: tight fit need to make sure it is mounted right

This works as well as the caribiner clip, though you need to make sure that it slides into the grooves on the back of the Oregon (same as the caribiner version). You need to hear it click into place, otherwise it will pop off.

GARMIN COLORADO OREGON APPROACH G5 BELT CLIP

Pros: concept is great, better than the carabinar
Cons: needs constructed from metal or stronger material

I had this clip on for exactly 1 day while hiking in South Dakota on a trip last week and the lock clip broke and sent my $600.00 unit crashing to the ground. Upon further inspection the locking clip had broken the plastic rim piece that locks in the little round stud on the back of the unit. This is a much better idea than the carabiner but it's made very cheap from plastic and will break. I may have received a defective unit but it seems to me they should make it out of metal instead of cheap plastic the can break. I was very fortunate that I realized my unit fell off my waist and didn't lose it and my 550T was tough enough that it did not sustain any damage from the fall. I would like to find out how to get my money back and find a stronger subsitute.

JUST WHAT IS NEEDED

I've always liked the belt clip and button style for a GPS. It is much quicker, compact and easier to use than the carabiner.
