GREAT MAPS

Pros: really nice maps with a ton of search options
Cons: none

These are really nice detail maps for the Garmin units....its simple to install and you're ready to go in a flash....just snap in the micro SD and power up. You can also move the card to another unit. We use the maps for traveling and geocaching as well as for finding our motel , restaurants, and other services.

OK FOR CITIES, NOT MUCH GOOD FOR THE BOONIES.

In rural areas Garmin does not do a good job of updating its maps. I haven't tested it yet at finding stores it had previously ignored. Overall, I am not sure whether it was worth updating.

EASY TO USE

Pros: easy to use, just insert

Since we are new to handheld GPS devices, this card was really easy to use. Just remove the battery, insert the card and voila! Good coverage for where we're been, including Alberta, BC, Washington, and Alaska.

GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR NORTH AMERICAN CARD

Pros: easy to install, and apparently near bulletproof.

I really enjoy using this product. I simply slipped the card into the slot provided on my Garmin 62s, and everything worked as expected.

I use the unit primarily for hiking and on my off-road motorcycle. My 62s took an unexpected tumble off my bike at about 45KPH (not the fault of the unit or the RAM mount), and after bouncing off a rock face, landed in a creek. When I finally located my GPS, it was still working just fine.

GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR NORTH AMERICAN CARD

would not recomend to others as up date is not any better info than original load of 5 years prior. Spent cost of card for nothing. I agree with Dewey jacksonvill fl roads are 2 3 yrs old and they are not up dated . many roads between Okeechobe FL and Charleston SC are still out dated on the updated 2011 card would like to return for full refund. DO NOT BUY THIS UP DATE OLD INFO

GREAT MAPS AND POI

We purchased this card to update our old system before traveling to the USA for vacation. We were pleased to see all the small windy mountain roads in the Smoky Mountain area on the maps as well as many poi's there and along the way from Canada.

GOOD PRODUCT

Pros: full na data in a nice small package
Cons: need to allow backup in event of disaster

Bought this for my GPSMap 62s and just plugged it in and away I went. Works just as good as the previous (2009) version that I have on DVD for my 60C. I just wish there was a way that I could make a backup of it in case I accidentally overwrite data (62s lists this card and internal memory as two drives and I haven't made the mistake - YET !....

GARMIN NORTH AMERICAN MAP CARD

Pros: rest stops, good detail when zoomed in,use anywhere
Cons: detail lacks when zoomed out

I recently took a trip from Oceanside to Vancouver BC, Canada using only a Garmin 60csx, and my Iphone w/ google maps. No paper maps of any kind. The Garmin map card worked well in locating POI's, rest stops on the highway, good details when zoomed on cities, towns, and about 99% of streets/roads are shown. It does lack details until you zoom in, but for navigating in and around large cities and finding various highway interchanges, it worked well. It isn't as good as google maps....but it is free to use anytime/anywhere, unlike my Iphone.

GOOD, I LIKE IT

Pros: good solid update for the street based program
Cons: difficult to use navigation from a to b

I have a Garmin 60cSX and it works well. It has many more colors and easier to read than the previous street-based program. It does have a navigation mode to get from A to B, but it is awkward, hard to use, and doesn't show an overview to review. This part is not near what the auto based units do. For an update on streets and markedly improved display I recommend it.

2011 NOT A GOOD NAVIGATOR

I am very disappointed with City Navigator North America Card 2011, and would like to return with a full refund. This is the 3rd week with the 2011 version and I tell you there is something wrong in the way it navigates, instead of staying on interstates and high ways the GPS plots routes threw town’s and side roads, why I do not know. The only avoidance turned on is dirt roads and the best I can see it is the quickest time (if it is the quickest it does not take traffic lights and speed into account). If I use the shortest distance then that is even worst. As far as updates 3 general updates I expected were not on one being the Atlantic airport, construction been completed since 2008 and the new roads are not on 2011.

GOOD STREET MAPPING PRODUCT

I have used other Garmin products, such as Topo data, for navigation and find this one appears to work about the same which is pretty good. However, this product has a problem displaying backroads. The navigational directions are given for backroads but in the case of some they are not displayed. These are not dirt tracks or trails but fully paved country roads. Otherwise a great product.

CITY NAVIGATOR CARD

Pros: if city navigation is <1hour, then ok.
Cons: batteries underpowered.

It's hard to comprehend how current technology can assimilate in a meaningfull way/real time the vicissitudes of road and route variables. The on-line update of 10 minutes ago is as obsolete as the one of 10 days ago. The Nuvi3790T qualities of "street navigation, pedestrian" are severely limited by the lithium battery longevity of 2-(?) hrs.

GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR

I am using this product in an Oregon 450 mounted in a RAM mount in conjunction with topographical maps on a dual sport motorcycle and love that I can jump back and forth between streets and topigraphicals.. The card fits in a slot under the batteries and is out of sight out of mind.. So far I have not run into any problems and everything seems to work as it should..
