WORSE DIRECTIONS
I bought this for a recent trip to Spain and Portugal and just arrived home. I was extremely disappointed with the Garmin Navigator. It had us lost most of the time telling us to get off major highways when travelling from city to city. It had us lost in cities, one time the sign for airport showed to go right, Garmin told us to keep to the left...again we were totally lost in a major city which I did not like driving in. I do not know if something was wrong with this card. I would like a refund for this item as it was useless to us. I would never recommend it to anyone or lend this one to anyone going to Portugal/Spain.

SPAIN-PORTUGAL GPS MAP
Pros: necessary for small cities and country side Cons: not updated frequently enough (new roads missing)
OK to get general directions - easier to travel than using printed maps. In small cities it may be confusing when directing drivers to enter very narrow streets (barely wider than a car width!). Also has some problems with newly constructed roads (not found on our 2010 map!) and many construction road closures. Still it brought us to final destinations after several detours.

GARMIN EUROPE NT - PORTUGAL/SPAIN
Whether navigating brand new toll super highways or centuries-old back steets, the Garmin Europe NT - Portugal/Spain map made travel easy. I toured many parts of Portugal 10 years ago relying only on my wife for guidance and I can tell you this trip was completely low stress by comparison! The only shortfall was that routes to intended destinations when travelling in the Minho region of Portugal (perhaps this might happen in other rural areas) usually took us over tiny mountain roads that locals advised were much slower than using main highways. We sometimes had to add waypoints based on local knowledge so that we would avoid these tiny backroads.

NT SPAIN AND PORTUGAL
When we loaded the chip the GPS told us that the maps should be updated. As we used the GPS in Mijas Spain it had us going around in circles!

GPS IN ALGARVE AND LISBON
Worked very well in a potentially very confusing and difficult driving environment, due to the language, signs display or signs not there. The GPS was used in Algave and Lisbon Portugal.

GARMIN CITY NAVIGATOR NT SPAIN & PORTUGAL
Worked very well in a potentially very confusing and difficult driving environment in Granada Spain. Minor exceptions where streets were inaccessible due to construction. Just had to avoid the turn and she re-calculated quickly with another route. Just remember to wait for her specific instructions and not jump the gun.
