WORKS AS ADVERTISED
Pros: simple to set up and align sensor to magnets Cons: attachment to bike.
Cadence sensor works great. documentation is a bit skinny though. Took me a bit to figure out how to display cadence and speed plus heart rate so this review is more about the guides not the sensor itself. Zip ties are a bit stiff so it made it hard to secure the sensor on the chain stay and the magnet on the crank arm. The spoke sensor appears hard to keep tight on spoke.

WORKS JUST AS ADVERTISED
Pros: easy setup. works out of the box. Cons: none
I've bought two of these and installed them on my bike and also my wifes. Both were installed easily and connected right away to our Garmin Forerunner 305's. Because of the crank shape on my wife's bike I had to add a small shim under the sensor but that was no big deal. Just found a little chunk of rubber to put under it. I've only been using this indoors so far on a trainer because of winter weather but look forward to getting outside. I really like the fact that there is only one sensor that tracks both speed and cadence.

GREAT BUT DOES NOT LAST
Pros: only cadence for garmin. works great when it does Cons: fails all too frequently.
I am no in the process of replacing my GSC-10 for the 3 rd time. I have heard that it is a waterproofing problem and simply washing your bike will cause failure. Must be because I live in sunny Colorado and rarely ride in rain but do keep my bike clean. Garmin's support staff has also proven themselves incapable of reading an entire email where I have documented all of the troubleshooting steps I had taken because the then just told in great detail how to troubleshoot 3 times by 3 different people in the same email thread.

This cadence sensor was easy to install and configure. Since connecting the sensor to my bike and syncing with my ForeRunner 305 it has worked flawlessly.

CADENCE AND SPEED IN A SMALL PACKAGE
Pros: easy setup, solid unit. Cons: wheel balance
You might find there is a little voodoo involved in the setup, however the product works well once installed. My bike is a Trek hybrid and I had to use an alternate magnet to get the reading off my pedal, it is far from the back wheel bar (the part that would be the swing arm on a bike with suspension, that's where this unit mounts.) I wish it included a counterweight for the rear wheel as the magnet makes it unbalanced and it shows at high speed.

GARMIN GSC 10 REVIEW
Pros: easy to install and set up Cons: unit size tie wraps speed sensor as gps backup
Easy to install, works well. Detected automatically by my Edge 305 unit. I hope the battery will last for a while. Garmin engineers should work on a more fashion way to fix it, tie-wrap work but is not very nice. I was not expecting that cadence information would help me so much to be more efficient. When the GPS signal get bad on the EDGE unit, the speed sensor do not take the relay very well and fast enough.

IF YOU WANT CADENCE...
Cons: not reliable.
I don't like the GSC 10 Unit. I have used a couple of these units of several bikes. I find them finicky, they drop the signal more often and use up the battery more quickly then other speed/cadence systems I've used (cateye, which I quite like). However, if you want cadence on your Garmin GPS, this is what you have to use, so I use it.

Not that I'm on my way to the Tour de France, or anything, but the cadence sensor is a neat tool that enhances my rides/training. It automatically calculated my wheel size, so I'm guessing it also measures speed, in addition to RPM. It was even easy to install - even for an idiot like me.

GREAT FOR USING WITH INDOOR TRAINER
Pros: amazingly easy to install. Cons: effect on calorie burn data.
The speed and cadence sensor is a great device to go with your Garmin cycling computer. Only two downsides: 1) the sensor is often dubbed only "Cadence Sensor" and it took me quite a while to comfirm it actually measures speed as well and 2) it seems if you use it with a Garmin with heart rate capacity, the calorie burn is highly over- exaggerated instead of calories being measured by the HR only, they appear to be affected by the measured speed as well.

FINALLY, I CAN TRACK MY WORKOUT ON THE TRAINER!
Pros: easy installation, easy calibration Cons: leds a bit weak in bright sunlight
I recently purchased a new trainer to go with my new road bike and wanted to be able to track my indoor workouts. I already had the Forerunner 305 and did not want to have to buy a bike computer just for that.
I ordered the cadence sensor with the 2-day shipping option. It shipped the day I ordered and arrived the next day: Calgary, AB to Cornwall, ON in less than 24 hours!
I installed the sensor without any of the issues others have noted: the battery worked, the LEDs worked, the various components attached easily and securely within the appropriate ranges. The next day I rode about 25K outside with the Forerunner and the cadence sensor. They paired immediately and calibrated. I have completed two indoor rides since and now know my time, distance, and heart rate.

GOOD SEEMS TO WORK OK T TRIAL FITTING
Pros: works needs modification to fit. Cons: see above
Because the crank arm is far removed from the wheel the magnet needs a lot of build up to get within 5mm. This should be explained to the prospective buyer. Modification kits should be available. I want mine on a Giant brand, cypress model. A modification kei would be nice to have available.

SIMPLE INSTALL, WORKS WELL
Pros: works with my garmin forerunner 305 Cons: magnets need to pass really close to the sensor
The sensor install was pretty easy, although my specialized transition didn't leave any room between the spoke magnet and the speed sensor, so the sensor is in the "up" position... I'm a little terrified that it might get bumped into the spokes if I'm not careful, although the unit seems to be installed pretty tight and stable.
The docs suggest the magnets should be within 5mm of the sensor, I found it needs to be closer to get a reliable reading. If I could suggest anything, make this range a little larger, like 5mm-1cm.

GARMIN'S GSC 10 - EASY INSTALL, EASY SET-UP
Pros: absolutely easy setting up. Cons: no quick-release mount to move between bikes.
Ok, to make a short story even shorter...Garmin's Cadence Sensor installed on my bike flawlessly. The only two adjustments I had to make were proximity on the magnetic pick-up of the sensor at the wheel and telling my Garmin Forerunner 305 that I now had a Cadence sensor available. Shortly after that the machine self-calibrated after 30 seconds of pedaling and I was off on my first ride with my new set-up. I am in awe of Garmin's latest products. And have become an instant fan. GOOD CADENCE SENSOR
THe Garmin cadence sensor works really well with my Forerunner. I bought it so I could monitor cadence on both indoor and outdoor workouts with my Forerunner instead of a separate bike computer. The install was very easy with just a few zip ties. It synched with my Forerunner quickly, and on my first outdoor ride it calculated my wheel size within a minute or two. Speed and distance calculations will be done by GPS unless there is a poor satellite signal, so you can get a calculated distance on trainer rides.

WHY USE A BIKE COMPUTER?
Pros: simplicity / cost Cons: nil
A well priced item that delivers on its promise. Installation is easy, calibration for the Forerunner 405 is even simpler, and it allowed me to get rid of the bike computer. The only thing missing is watts, but that would make things much more complicated and much more expensive. The nice touch is that since the wheel sensor is on the rear wheel, you can even get speed/distance information while using a bike trainer.

GREAT FOR INDOOR TRAINER USE
Pros: super easy to install
Very easy to install and a great accessory for anyone with any compatible garmins. Now I can see my cadence and speed indoors and when using my bike outdoors I can see my cadence and speed through satelites. Great item!

EASY TO INSTALL AND USE
It was a breeze to install - and I am not gifted that way. Best tested in dark room b/c LEDs are not very bright. I use with Forerunner 305 with bike attachment its a good compromise for someone who runs and bikes with equal enthusiasm

EDGE 305 CADENCE SENSOR GSC 10
Bought the Edge 305 for my road bike, (great product). Decided to buy a spare Cadence Sensor so I would have the feature on my mountain bike. Works great, the only problem I had was I lost the magnet that installs on the crank arm on the first ride. So if you buy this for a mountain bike do what I did (the second time)glue the magnet to the crank arm
