BIRDSEYE SUCKS FOR CANADA
Pros: tons of potential with good imagery Cons: poor canadian imagery is unusable
Unfortunately this sucks. The Canadian imagery is very poor quality and is unusable. If you look at imagery for the states it is great but for some reason Garmin has dropped the ball on the Canadian stuff- I guess we don't matter! I encourage you to send a email to Garmin to suggest that they improve the product for Canada as this has great potential.
Email cartography@garmin.com and let them know that they need to improve the imagery. I did this and recieved a encouraging reply. the more the merrier and maybe we can get good imagery

POOR QUALITY
Pros: satellite images are a nice to have feature Cons: low resolution, snow covered images.
I agree with the other reviews. The quality of the satellite images is poor, which isn't acceptable for a paid subscription. My area (Nfld) shows images that were taken over seven years ago. Many of them were taken during the winter, and as indicated in a review below, it is difficult to discern water bodies from marshes etc. I am disappointed that BirdsEye does not provide higher resolution satellite images for Canada - they are available (i.e. in Google Earth and Bing).

BLURR IS USELESS
Cons: big blurr!
Rural BC data is blurred and resolution doesn't increase as you zoom in. Not worth purchasing. Print Google earth of the area you intend to visit. I won't be renewing.

AREAL PHOTOS ARE A GOOD OPTION
Pros: helps to locate objects not seen in other maps Cons: eats up a lot of storage on micro-sd card
I don't know what is going on in Canada, but in the U.S. the areal photos are comparable to Google Earth. My suggestion is to look on Google Earth at the areas you plan to use the imagery for most. If there is acceptable resolution on Google Earth, it should be acceptable on your GPS. My only issue is storage. The high resolution images can eat up a lot of bytes.

BIRDSEYE SUBSCRIPTION CHEAP LIKE THE PICTURES
Pros: interface on basecamp ok Cons: very poor resolution - old picture - slow server
I buy this subscription just for testing it for the price but there is NO secret with BirdsEeye Satellite imagery.. That's what i know before because i have ask a sample by Garmin just for my area.. It's exactely what Google Earth show me for my area. In other word : If Google Earth NOT show you high resolution on specified area = BirdsEye subscription will not show you high resolution either for the same selected area. Picture are pretty old and much less on resolution to compare to Google Earth Map direct from internet or over the Google Earth navigator. Not up-to-date and very poor picture quality also on dence city.I have do a A and B comparation between actual Google Earth map on internet and BirdsEye picture. That's what surprise me much. Other things is that the BirdsEye internet server speed are extremly slow and rarely pass 200 Kbit/sec. Opppss !!!! That can be a realy much better service and product, specialy if money are ask.

WORKS GREAT IN THE U.S.... NOT SO IN CANADA
Pros: good in dense cities Cons: maps done in winter, no detail in reote areas
I pourchased this in summer of 2010, but the detail in rural Canada is very poor, even worse then google maps/earth. If you only want to use it in cities, well it should work just fine for those needs. also many of the maps were done in winter... so you cannot determine if its water, land, or marsh...etc.

SATTELITE IMAGERY SO SO.
Pros: unknown so far Cons: poor imagery in my area.
I bought the subscription after reading about it and I will say that I am neutral on it. The imagery for my area (central British Columbia) is terrible. If I was in a bigger center where they have done more comprehensive sattelite imagery it might be different. Maybe the imagery is better in the USA than it is in Canada? I will have to travel some and see if it is better elsewhere.
