Garmin 17.5 inch Lanyard Tips If you have a larger unit like the StreetPilot or 176 series, the lanyard can be used as a safe guard for the unit when mounted on a bike handlebar, or with a suction cup mount. Simply attach the lanyard to your unit and then loop the lanyard onto a secure point on you bike or vehicle. Now if your unit comes loose from the mount, I won't fall far.
