As listed above, there are three different lengths to choose from. You can purchase the one you originally had or change the length to one more practical to your use.
The lanyard circled on the left is 17.5'' long. It can be worn as a neck strap or a long wrist strap.

If you have a larger unit like the StreetPilot or 176 series, the lanyard can be used as a safe guard for the unit when mounted on a bike handlebar, or with a suction cup mount. Simply attach the lanyard to your unit and then loop the lanyard onto a secure point on you bike or vehicle. Now if your unit comes loose from the mount, I won't fall far.

My fourth purchase from gpscity. Previous 3 went great and I expect this one will as well. I do feel rather sheepish though. This last week I've been combing the net for a golf GPS.
