Today's Friday Feature was submitted only a few days ago to our GPS City Gallery. It started with one of our customers, Michael, stating, "Everyone said I should, so I did." What was Michael talking about? Read his story below to find out.
Michael, who is from Ontario, loves to travel, especially on roads that are a little off the beaten path. Since these roads are twisty and difficult, he would always have books of maps stacked in his car. He explains, " [I] used to keep book after book of Maps in the car, Provence maps, State maps, local regional maps. All with little highlighted routes and favorite (twisty) roads saved on them. All my friends told me I should get a GPS. [They] said it would be easier."
After the persistent reminders from friends, Michael caved. Deciding they were right, Michael upgraded from the paper map books to a GPS. He chose "a little UMPC computer, a Fujitsu Lifebook with built in GPS." Although he now had a GPS, a new problem developed as Michael wondered "how do I keep [this] thing from flying all over the car while driving those twisty roads..." Luckily, he found a solution in the U810 mount by RAM Mount.
The Fujitsu Lifebook U810 Tablet PC Vehicle Mount is a plastic cradle attached to a marine grade aluminum and plastic composite mount. Using RAM Mount's patented ball and socket system, the vehicle mount provides movement and flexibility so the user can have optimum viewing at all times. In addition, the installation does not require any drilling.
Today, Michael is happy he listened to the suggestions of his friends. He says, "It's been almost a year and I use it every day." For Michael's original post and pictures along with stories by other customers, click here.
