BACKROADS MAPS
Pros: good detail, easy to read.
Cons: none.
What a great product. No problem unlocking the maps on my computer and so far in review the maps are pretty accurate. I like the fact that you can buy fairly cheap updates too.

BEST MAP EVER
Pros: all pros
Cons: no cons
I bought the SD card version for Garmin Dakota 20 and was more than amazed with all the details.Nothing is missing or overlooked. Included are Wmu #-Pipe lines-Powelines-rivers- Lakes-Swamps-creeks- elevation-private land-reserves- Atv,snowmobile and hiking trails, all bush roads by name plus all regular roads and streets by name in any town big or small.

NO SEARCH AVAILABLE
Pros: map detail
Cons: not address searchable
I purchased this software as an alternative to garmon city navigator north america nt. The maps from backroads are really impressive but know one told me that i would not be able to search for an address or place with it. If backroads was searchable i would have given it higher marks but i now have to also purchase garmin navigator as well. This is getting expensive.

EXPENSIVE, BUT EXCELLENT
Pros: detail and flexibility
Cons: $$$
This may be an expensive item, but it really is the most detailed map set I have seen on a GPS. I bought the SD card version, and use it in a Garmin Oregon 450.

VERY GOOD TOPO MAPS
Pros: shows trails, crown and privately owned land
Cons: pricey
The pricey "Backroad GPS Maps Ontario" does show more detail than "Canada Topo Maps", it shows Crown land and privately owned land (one of the main reasons why I bought this), ATV, Snowmobile and Hiking trails in detail. With "Canada Topo Maps V4" it shows in 2D and 3D where "Backroad GPS Maps Ontario" seems to only display in 2D. If your wanting to buy "Backroad GPS Maps Ontario" for the trails, you could add trails that you can find for free from GPS mapping internet sites for free to the "Canada Topo Maps" and save yourself $75

BEST TOPO MAPS YET.

First of all, you can never get an up to date map or completely accurate map, with all that said, Backroad Maps is the best on the market for details and accuracy. It shows all roads that are more that 4 or 5 years old , logging roads that are more than 50 years old, roads that you can't drive on it unless you are walking, it shows snowmobile trail, ATV trails, canoe routes, WMU #, Hiking trails ,POI and much more . You can navigate in town as well as in the bush, map details are incredible. To me, this is the last map I will ever buy except for updates.
